Finnian's Chair Jumping Adventure

A Limerick for Finnian Magonegil

There once was a lad named Finn
bumps and bruises covered his skin.
One day he did dare
to climb his high chair,
from here he did jump
landing hard with a thump.
A cast it did take
as a bone it did break
so when once again stable
will he jump from the table?

The Magonegil's visit Happy Time Pumpkin Patch

This past weekend we ventured out to the land of McCain/Palin signs... wonderful Enumclaw. With the exception of the lack of Obama signage, the day was simply stunning. Our majectic Mount Rainier was out in all its glory as well as the sun. You could not ask for more. Joining us was our good friends, the Furin's. The kids had a great time munching on kettle corn, feeding the animals, sliding down the dirt mountain, going through the corn maze, taking a hay ride and picking out their pumpkins. We parents had a great time as well. The only tragedy of the day was Aidan's encounter with the hair eating goat. He managed to pull out a substantial chunk of her hair right out of her head and proceeded to munch it down. Needless to say, Aidan did not appreciate this at all. She soon recovered and hopefully will not revisit this experince in her dreams.

Please enjoy some of the photos that I took. Happy Harvest Time Everyone !

The Blue Stars

Aidan is playing in a fall soccer league sponsored by the Y. Her first game was a lot of running around in circles but she really came into her own in game two. Encouraged by her cheerleaders (Lynn and Leah), Aidan spent the entire match running and actually scored her very first goal. Way to go Aidan!

Aidan celebrates her goal !!! YEAH AIDAN !!!

Team Rodenbeck - Portland Marathon

Team Rodenbeck (Robin, Meghen, Aidan, Finn, Tim, Ashley, Rick and Leah) all ventured south to Portland for the weekend to watch Leah run 26 cold, rainy, grueling miles in the Portland Marathon. We wore our team shirts and yelled ourselves hoarse for Leah and the other brave souls slogging through the miles of wet pavement.

LEAH IS OUR HERO !!!

Here comes Leah!

Leah finishes 26 exhausting miles already a winner in Team Rodenbeck's eyes !!!

Camping at Manchester State Park

Boy did we have a great time camping. Joining the Magonegil's on this adventure were the Rodenbecks. We ate delicious gourmet meals cooked over the fire, picked bowls full of blackberries, discovered amazing creatures in the tidepools, roasted marshmallows and just had a relaxing wonderful time. The weather was perfect and the fellowship with friends refreshed our spirits and prepared us for the long, dark months of winter to come.

Aidan enjoys some blackberries.

Rick cooks salmon, roasts corn, warms fresh bread and prepares a blackberry sauce all over an open fire. Gourmet camp food for sure.

Checking out the sea life

September & Back to School

So September brings a return of Aidan to school. She was very excited to start going full days and to have lunch there. Aidan loves school and we love her school as well. Finn misses his sister and is always happy when she gets home.
